It's That Time Again!

With Halloween being over, it's that time again. No, not that deciding where to go for Thanksgiving time, or the what to fix for dinner time, but the Count Down to.....Yep, you guessed it, BLACK FRIDAY! Only 19 more days! Time not only to start scouring the internet for the best sales, but time to warm up the running shoes, make that list, check it twice or sometimes three or four times! Here's to a fun and fabulous Holiday Season!

Happy Birthday DaNell!

November 1, 2012. My first born baby girl turned 17 (wow, did I just say that?) Seems like just yesterday I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of a surprise baby (I had elected not to find out if it was a boy or girl during the ultrasounds. She has always been in such a hurry to grow up, she is doing very well in school, is a member of the 2012-2013 Carbon High Drill Team, Member of the Debate Team, and involved in so many things I can't list them all. I am so proud of her and all her accomplishments, I know she will go far and will only accomplish so much more. We had cake and ice cream for her birthday, she received a new book, a new dress for Pref, money, and cards/candy from her brothers and sisters. We Love You DaNell, keep up the good work :D

Halloween Pumpkins!

Halloween is always a fun time, this year I had a Goddess, Frankie Stein (Monster High), Zombie, and baby vampire. I also dressed up this year as a Vampiress. The kids went trick-or-treating around our block, then to grandma and grandpas. They each scored a pretty decent haul and were ready to go home by 8:30, in bed by 9:00. Most of the pics I took didn't save on my phone :( however, I hope you enjoy the ones I did get.

Productive Weekend

This weekend we set out to de-clutter the garage. I was amazed at the amount of "stuff" we had accumulated in there. It turned out to be an all day ordeal, but we were able to get rid of about a truck load of things, and check all the Christmas lights to see if they all still worked and the good news is....they do! We'll be hitting that project after Halloween is over. After the garage, we worked on some of the cupboards and got them all organized as well. I must say, the kitchen looks much better and is easier to find things in. We were also able to get to town and pick out some pumpkins to carve, pics will be coming up later this week. Long Time...No Write

Hi All, I know it has been a very long time since I wrote anything, I've been having struggles with keeping my blog going or not. I have often wondered if anyone really cared or not if they were able to read about the life and times of the Rasmussen Ranch???? It took me a while to realize that I care. I care for a number of reasons, the first being my family, I enjoy writing about my children more than anything, even if it's only a few sentences about something they accomplished or said during the day that made me smile. for these are the little things we tend to overlook as life gets hectic and busy. With that, I am making a new commitment to write more and enjoy life more. We only have this one life, why not make the best of it! Tracey

Schydi's New Do!

Schydi's been just dying to try something different with her hair, so I decided to let her try some temporary dye that washes out after a few washes. She picked the color and it turned out even better than she expected. She loves it.

Tonsilectomy

After a couple bad bouts of strep throat, I made the decision, along with Taylor and the Dr.'s to go see a ENT Dr. After discussing his past history and severity of Strep Throats that he gets, we decided to have his tonsils removed. He was a little nervous, but not so nervous that he couldn't joke around with the nurses and make a bet with the anesthesiologist. He bet a candy bar that he could count past 10 before falling asleep, Taylor didn't remember how high he got to, but thanks to an awesome nurse we had, she made sure to tell him that he won, he counted all the way to 11 before crashing. We never did see the anesthesiologist again that day for him to collect his winnings. The surgery went well, he has been home recovering since Wednesday, had a good first day, and a couple rocky days since, he is able to get liquids down and a little food, hopefully he is over the roughest days, and only good days to come.

New Year......

Happy New Year.....a little late.
Things here are going well, here's a little update on all the kids. DaNell is doing well, enjoying her first year of high school, excelling in Debate, she has 4-5 more tournaments between now and March before the debate season is over, she is also working on her driving skills as she inches closer to getting her actual license. Taylor is also doing well in school, hates keyboarding, but is finally finished with that class. He played football in the fall and is looking forward to the beginning of the baseball season. Schydi is liking 4th grade, she is Little Miss Social and thinks she needs to visit a different friend every night of the week. She joined the school choir this year and was able to participate in Christmas caroling at various nursing homes throughout the community. She has another music program in Feb. she loves to sing and has memorized all the words to 50 Nifty, United States. Leyton is also doing well, enjoying 1st grade, learning how to play X-Box, and working on his math and reading. They are all growing up so fast....Good Job Kids, I am very proud of all of you!
